The “Cultural Notebook” campaign was launched to mark St. Petersburg’s 323rd anniversary and takes place as part of the Year of St. Petersburg Culture. The city’s leading cultural institutions offer thematic stamps to everyone. They can be placed in special notebooks, on postcards, tickets, and any other pages. The Russian Railway Museum souvenir shop offers unique postcards featuring steam locomotives, historic carriages, and rare locomotives.

“Participating in the ‘Cultural Notebook’ campaign allows visitors to build a personal collection of memorable artifacts and see St. Petersburg’s cultural heritage in a new way. Recently, I myself became interested in postcrossing: I keep postcards with rare postmarks from different cities—they remind me of trips and of chance but warm connections with strangers. That is why I especially value the opportunity to give museum guests the same small but meaningful souvenir. I invite everyone to join the project and preserve memories of visiting the Russian Railway Museum in the form of a keepsake,” said Dmitry Golovkin, Director of the Russian Railway Museum.

The collection currently contains 23 stamps. The “Cultural Notebook” campaign runs through August 31, 2026. The project is implemented by the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture with the support of leading cultural organizations, the Committee for Tourism Development, and the Podpisnye Izdaniya bookstore.

The Russian Railway Museum souvenir shop is open during museum hours: Thursday through Monday from 10:00 to 18:00, Wednesday from 12:30 to 20:30; Tuesday is a day off. The shop is inside the museum, to the right of the entrance. No admission ticket is required to visit it.
