On the final summer weekend, August 30 and 31, 2025, the Russian Railway Museum hosted “Open Roads Day” as part of the International Railway Salon of the 1520 space, “PRO//Motion.Expo.”

An entertaining and educational program was organized for visitors with children: quests through the museum exhibition with prizes, themed workshops, and tours. Adults could attend a series of four lectures by Alexei Vulfov, Chairman of the Society of Railway Enthusiasts, on the history of railway transport in Russia, as well as view a contemporary exhibition. The Salon presented advanced achievements in the railway industry, innovative technologies, and the latest rolling-stock models.

The most vivid experience for guests of all ages was the steam locomotive display at Baltic Station: dynamic and static exhibitions dedicated this year to the 80th anniversary of Victory. Visitors saw various historic locomotives, from the rare “soft sign” class tank locomotive to the P36 and LV series, the last steam locomotive series produced in our country. For the first time at the “PRO//Motion.Expo” salon, TE and Em-class steam locomotives built in 1945 were presented.

More than 20,000 people visited the salon during “Open Roads Day” on August 30–31.

The International Railway Salon of the 1520 space, “PRO//Motion.Expo,” is the leading exhibition of advanced technologies for broad-gauge railways and has a history spanning more than 50 years. In 2025, the event took place in St. Petersburg on the grounds of the Russian Railway Museum for the second time.
