The first-year students were welcomed by representatives of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, the St. Petersburg Metro, the St. Petersburg Committee for Education, and graduates from previous years.
“Our museum welcomes many visitors and delegations from different countries, as well as members of the professional community. We are delighted that your professional journey will begin by learning about important and vivid chapters in the country’s railway history,” Vladimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway Museum, told the students.
Vladislav Apanitsin, Director of the College of Metro, congratulated the students: “It is symbolic that we are holding our celebration here, among powerful locomotives, legendary railcars, and rarities. Eighty-five years of secondary vocational education is an entire era written by young people just like you.”
