Хронология:
<space=1em>Before the war, passenger carriages were built exclusively with wooden bodies. In their design, they differed little from pre-revolutionary carriages. <space=1em>The first attempts to build all-metal carriages were made before the war. Thus, in 1935, the Kalinin Carriage Works produced several all-metal welded carriages of the compartmentless type (reserved seat) 25 m long. In 1939, the Yegorov Carriage Works in Leningrad built a regional (seated) carriage 25 m long, designed for 70 seats. <space=1em>Also before the war, the body of the CMV carriage was built and tested, developing a more technologically advanced layout for the placement of stiffening elements. Apparently, this development formed the basis of the design of the carriage, which in 1947 was accepted for production at the former carriage-building plant Gottfreid Lindner AG (near the city of Halle). In 1945, the plant came under the control of the organized Soviet joint-stock company Transmash in Germany, which was engaged in post-war reparations. The company's management was located in Leipzig. By May 1, 1948, the first body of the new carriage was built. <space=1em>Until 1994, with numerous changes and upgrades, this plant produced more than 30,000 carriages of two hundred modifications for the USSR. <space=1em>The modifications concerned the entire carriage: the body, windows, interior trim, heating, ventilation, electrical equipment, bogies, transition units. Some carriages were manufactured according to the 01-T gauge, that is, with a body width of 2,832 mm instead of 3,058 mm. Carriages were also built for international service, for which purpose the automatic coupling could be replaced with a tie-down hook. Carriages with compartments for the disabled and with radio compartments, the so-called staff compartments, where the train commander was located, were produced. Restaurant cars and buffet cars were built on the basis of this body design, as well as special versions for operation in arctic and tropical conditions at temperatures from -70 to +60 degrees Celsius. <space=1em>All-metal cars built at the Lianozovo, Kalinin, Yegorov Plants in the USSR and the Tsigelsky Plant in the Polish People's Republic had a different body design. The body of these cars rested on a backbone load-bearing beam, the role of which was initially played by two I-beams, and later by channels - welded beams of variable cross-section. <space=1em>Since 1962, the Red Arrow cars began to be painted red. A corresponding overhead inscription appeared on the side wall of the carriage above the windows, and the inscription "Express" appeared below the windows. <space=1em>All-metal carriage No. 001 07383 was built by the Ammendorf plant (Halle, Germany) on October 13, 1994. Factory number 245. It was part of the last batch of nine SV carriages delivered from Germany to the October Railway. The carriage was used in the compositions of the branded trains "Saint Petersburg", "Ladoga" and from the second half of the 1990s to 2006 in the "Red Arrow". <space=1em>The carriage was repaired and transferred to the museum collection in 2016 by the North-West branch of JSC "Federal Passenger Company" with the direct participation of its heads S. V. Zotin and M. G. Poyarkov.
