Blenkinsop's Salamanca
<space=1em>They don't want to go!
<space=1em>The inventors of the Industrial Revolution era faced a serious problem: the light steam locomotives of that time often skidded on the rails because they were not capable of developing sufficient traction force.
<space=1em>Development and patent
<space=1em>The English inventor John Blenkinsop studied the problem of the failure of the adhesion between the wheel and the rail during the traction force of the locomotive and found an original solution.
Blenkinsop developed a special rack and pinion transmission that ensured the adhesion of a light steam locomotive to the track. This was done to prevent the failure of the adhesion between the wheel and the rail.
<space=1em>Engineering thought
<space=1em>The inventor's idea was put into practice by engineer Matthew Murray in 1812The first double-acting cylinders appeared in Blenkinsop-Murray steam locomotives. The principle of the double steam engine has remained since then forever.
