<space=1em>Cars with a body length of 20.2 m were built from 1927 to 1941 by the Tver (Kalinin) and I.E. Egorov car-building plants in various versions and were the most common passenger cars of pre-war construction.
<space=1em>Cars for long-distance travel (soft couped, hard couped resort type, hard couped, hard open), suburban travel, restaurant cars, baggage and mail cars, saloon cars and for transporting prisoners were developed.
<space=1em>In Case of War
<space=1em>Four-axle suburban carriages of Soviet construction and some of the two-axle carriages were built in such a way that they could be easily converted for transporting the seriously wounded. With the onset of the mobilization period, the People's Commissariat of Railways was to transfer to the People's Commissariat of Defense a pre-planned number of carriages of various types for equipping military hospital trains.

<space=1em>The carriage with factory number 9151 was built in 1940 at the I.E. Egorov Plant in Leningrad. During this period, many changes were made to the design of suburban carriages with a body length of 20.2 m, which led to the creation of the so-called "suburban carriage of the 1941 model" — the last and most advanced Soviet suburban carriage with a wooden body.
<space=1em>In 1951 suburban carriage No. 3906 was assigned to the Moscow carriage section of the October Railway, and in 1973 — to the Kalinin carriage depot. Entered the museum from the Experimental Track Machine Station No. 1 (Reshetnikovo) in 1995. Restored during repair work carried out by ARS-M LLC in 2013–2014.

Хронология:
<space=1em>In 1928, the wagon-technical office of the Krasny Putilovets plant developed a project for a 20.2 m long rigid passenger compartment car, based on a 20 m long State Railways car. At the same time, the length of the body without vestibules increased by 300 mm, and the vestibules were slightly narrowed from 940 to 890 mm. These changes did not affect the width of the compartment: it remained 1,750 mm wide. <space=1em>The design of the car itself was typical for that time. The cars had an all-metal riveted frame, and later - welded. To prevent frame deflection and increase its strength, a truss was installed under the side channels. Unlike the 20 m long car, the frame had two central ridge beams, which allowed the installation of an automatic coupler. <space=1em>The body was classic wood, covered with sheet iron. In the front walls of the car there was a sliding door and a wide transition platform with vestibules for placing a transition canvas accordion. <space=1em>Brake equipment was installed manual (parking) and pneumatic Westinghouse systems. <space=1em>The car was heated from an individual water boiler. Natural ventilation was provided by deflectors engineered by Korshunov. Lighting - electric ceiling bulbs. <space=1em>On the basis of this rigid compartment car, as it was then called "resort type", the following were built: - a rigid long-distance car (reserved seat) with 48 sleeping and 64 seats; - a dining car with 48 seats (built by the Kalinin plant); — a hard suburban train with 94 seats. <space=1em>Suburban carriages were built from 1928 to 1941 at the Kalinin Carriage Works and the I. E. Yegorov Carriage Works, the former carriage works of the St. Petersburg Partnership. The carriages were built by two plants, but they are now commonly called "Yegorovtsy". These were the only standard four-axle passenger carriages that were produced before the Great Patriotic War. <space=1em>The carriage presented in the museum was built in 1940 at the I. E. Yegorov Carriage Works in Leningrad. Factory number 9151. During this period, many changes were made to the design of suburban carriages with a body length of 20.2 m, which led to the creation of the so-called "suburban carriage of the 1941 model". This is the last and most advanced suburban carriage with a wooden body of Soviet production. It is installed on reinforced type TsVTK bogies. <space=1em>The carriage was delivered to the museum from Experimental Track Machine Station No. 1 (Reshetnikovo) in 1995. The carriage was restored by ARS-M LLC in 2013–2014.
