On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Russian Railway Museum will celebrate its eighth anniversary. Guests can look forward to a creative meeting with the author of the book “Along the Corridor of Immortality,” colorful photo zones, a children’s workshop, and performances.
At 11:00 a.m., inside the Ok 3906 suburban railcar built at the Leningrad plant named after I. E. Egorov, there will be a creative meeting with Dmitry Karalis, author of “Along the Corridor of Immortality.” The writer will talk about the heroic deeds of railway workers and a little-known operation to supply Leningrad during the blockade. All event participants will then be invited on themed museum tours.
At noon and 2:00 p.m., First Experimental Theatre will present “The Emerald City,” interactive children’s performances with elements of puppet theater, by the cutaway steam locomotive, based on the work of Alexander Volkov. The children will set off on a fairy-tale journey with Ellie and Totoshka. In the Magic Land, they will meet new friends and travel to the Emerald City to see the Wizard Goodwin. Age rating: 3+; running time: one hour. Children will also have access to a workshop area where they can make a card for the museum. Everyone can take a commemorative photo at the themed photo zone.
“On our eighth birthday, we invite families with children—our largest and most cherished audience—to take part in the interactive performance and workshops. We will also open a 1940 railcar that is usually inaccessible, holding a literary meeting to mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. We hope everyone will find something interesting that day—come celebrate with us,” said Vladimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway Museum.
On October 30, the Russian Railway Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; the ticket office closes one hour before the museum closes.
