Worth the trip from the city centre

We spent almost three hours here and could easily have stayed longer. The outdoor part of the collection is the highlight: you can walk right up to the locomotives and see how they were built. Staff at the entrance spoke enough English to help us with tickets and the route through the halls.

Great for families

Our children are six and nine and both were busy the whole visit. The interactive models are well made and the workshop was a nice break in the middle of the day.

Booked a guided tour in advance. The guide was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions well past the scheduled end of the tour.
