Anton Avdeev will read the Total Dictation at the Russian Railway Museum

The Total Dictation, an annual educational campaign in the form of a voluntary dictation for anyone who wishes to take part, will take place in the Russian Railway Museum’s exhibition on April 18, 2026, at 14:00.

The text will be read by Anton Avdeev, a Russian musical-theater actor, musical performer, and singer. This year’s text was written by Alexey Varlamov, a writer and winner of the Big Book Prize, a member of the jury of the Yasnaya Polyana Literary Prize, and rector of the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute. The Total Dictation text is devoted to Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin’s childhood.

The event will take place beside the “Cutaway Diesel Locomotive” installation. The museum will accommodate 80 participants. Participation is free, with advance registration. Registration opens on April 8, 2026, at totaldict.ru.

“This is the fifth time the campaign has taken place at our museum. It is a true celebration for lovers of the Russian language. We choose unusual places in the museum and invite interesting readers to create a special atmosphere and make the event memorable for a long time,” said Vladimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway Museum.
