Leiter trolley

In addition to the ADM type of railcars, simpler means are also used for maintenance and repair of the contact network. These include a removable mobile trolley — leiter. Its weight does not exceed 200 kg, which makes it easy to install and move along the track. It is used for work on it by contact network installers when adjusting the contact suspension. The use of a removable tower does not require occupying the track, that is, providing a "window".

The removable tower consists of two interconnected ladders installed on the frame of the trolley, allowing it to be moved along the rails manually. At the top of the removable tower there is a working platform with a fence, which can accommodate two installers.

Russian railways use insulating removable towers designed for work on the contact network under voltage. The ladders of such a tower and the diagonals between them are made of wood.

When working under voltage, the trolley kit includes two shunt rods with insulating handles designed to equalize the potential of the assembly platform with the voltage of the contact network before starting work and at the moment of disconnecting it from the contact network at the end of work and moving the tower itself along the rails.

The wheels of the removable tower (except one) are electrically insulated from the frame to avoid short-circuiting the track circuits of the signaling system (the non-insulated wheel grounds the lower part of the removable tower to the traction rail). The removable tower is serviced by at least four people, not counting signalmen, to ensure its quick removal from the track for the passage of trains.

The height of the trolley from the head of the rail— no more than 5,600 mm. The track width is 1,524 mm. Load capacity — 240 kg. Weight — no more than 200 kg.

The trolley was delivered to the museum from the St. Petersburg-Baltic power supply line in 2017
