Railway station model Vladivostok Station

Great Siberian

The model shows a view of the Vladivostok station of the Ussuri railway.

Here May 19 1891 the Tsarevich and future Emperor of the Russian Empire Nikolai Alexandrovich Romanov personally took the first wheelbarrow of earth to the foundation of the railway embankment. Thus began the construction of the Great Siberian Route, which in 1903 connected the Far East with Moscow and St. Petersburg. The road showed its strategic importance a year later, when the Russo-Japanese War began.

Museum model

It is the pre-war era that the model reflects. You can see the first Vladivostok railway station, which existed until the 1910s, the building of the Ussuri Railway Administration and other pre-revolutionary architecture of the city. In total, there are 964 characters on the model. The moving screen in front of the display case tells in detail about each object on the model.
